I am the living water,
I give you your life.
I run freely through dirt and leaves.
I am friends with all.
I am clear, I am blue.
When I am angry,
I rage with great white terror.
Or I can be mellow,
Dark and still.
I am part of the world.
I am old and very bold.
I go through life without an end.
Day after day, bend after bend.
One hundred years ago I was unknown,
Crisp and clear with no brown.
Now I am a cattle’s drink.
For they do not care.
For they do not think.
Day after day I carry on,
Through my new, dreary life.
The life, where I give the cattle life.
For I used to be, your living water.
