Oh puter puter puter
Sat on the desk
Waiting for a miracle
That he knew would never rest
Came here from a land far far away
and waited for eternity
thinking he would say
Oh puter puter puter
that sat on the desk
wont you play a melody
So i can get some rest.
but poor old puter suddenly said
No sir for I am quite content.
For i know there is no melody
For i know there is no joy
For the world around this little desk
Is nothing but a poise,
A poise of silver some might say
But truly a poise of lead.
A pocket full of lively Daisy’s,
Fed by the depth of the dead.
For I shant play the music
For the music has been lost.
My music, my joy, my love,
Has all been but tossed
For there shall be no music today
For the Herlad angels sang.
For the rain has come down so hard,
That we are all but fed.
So sing sing joyously, with no heed, nor pain.
For the world is a but a broom,
And the music but been swept.
Sat on the desk
Waiting for a miracle
That he knew would never rest
Came here from a land far far away
and waited for eternity
thinking he would say
